He will stand like a wall between his comrades and his foes, with his arms wide open, his body exposed, acting like a magnet for all harm that may come their way. Whereas every sane member of your band of mercenaries aims to minimize wounds and disability by mitigation (armor) or avoidance (dodging), the Flagellant welcomes them.
This man is unique among the various classes in the sense that he thrives on the ruin of his mind and body. If there was ever such a thing as ‘weaponized suffering’, then the Flagellant would be the term made flesh.
